Description

Glide High School is seeking a Health and Physical Education Teacher. Ability to obtain and maintain Oregon TSPC Licensure with Health, Physical Education, and CTE Health Sciences Endorsement (for AP dual credit) is required. Glide School District operates on a four-day school week, Monday through Thursday.

Salary range: $46,169 - $80,234

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Valid Oregon teacher’s license with appropriate subject area endorsement and grade level authorization.
  • Understanding of human growth and development patterns, learning theory and brain research.
  • Content knowledge in subject areas taught.
  • Familiarity with a variety of age appropriate instructional, assessment and classroom management strategies that reflect current research on best practices.
  • Familiarity with state standards and curriculum frameworks for high school grade levels.
  • Knowledge and experience with differentiated instruction.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal education laws and of student and staff rights.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
  • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.
  • Ability to direct the work of other staff members.

All postings are subject to enrollment levels. In-District means part of the GEA Bargaining Unit. Transfer requests from in-district candidates must be received in Human Resources no later than 4:30pm on the closing date of the given position.
